Daniel Ricciardo wants to be with Toro Rosso in next season – Formula 1 news
Toro Rosso driver Daniel Ricciardo has said that he wants to be with his current team in the 2013 Formula 1 season.
Ricciardo believes that the sister concern of Red Bull Racing will keep him in the next season until or unless something strange happens in the upcoming races.
The Australian driver has only been able to score 2 points in the season so far which he attained in the first race at Albert Park in Melbourne, Australia. Afterwards, he could not score even a single point and struggled with finding the pace. Moreover,
he was retired in one of the first eleven grands prix.
At present, he is standing at 18th position in the drivers’ rankings. Besides, he is ahead of Heikki Kovalainen of Caterham and is behind his teammate, Jean-Eric Vergne.
Even though, he has not been able to achieve competitive results in the season until now. However, he is positively looking forward to get back in form after the summer smash and is aiming to score some crucial points in the forthcoming races so as to improve
his position in the drivers’ championship.
It will be important to mention that he expressed his willingness to continue to drive for Toro Rosso in the next year until anything really bad happens.
In addition, he said that although he has performed well in the qualifying of many races, conversely, he faced issues with his race pace. Nonetheless, he said that he has got the potential to strike back in the season ahead. He also said that he has able
to learn a lot of things in the first half of the season and is hoping to enhance his racing skills in the season ahead.
"I'd say I'll stay unless the next few races go very badly," he told motor-total.com "The qualifying has been okay for me, the races were up and down but if I can knock out a few races and remain strong in qualifying I honestly think I've done everything
I can do. It would be good to get a season year because there is still a lot to learn."
