Daniel Rosas ready to defend his undefeated streak against Enrique Bernache – Boxing News
Daniel Rosas, the current WBO Youth super flyweight champion, will take on a slightly more experienced opponent in the form of fellow countryman Enrique Bernache, the former Mexico super bantamweight champion, in a 10-round bout which will be held on June
2, 2012.
The ring for the bout will be set up at Jai Alai Fronton, Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico and the event is being promoted by Fernando Beltran of Promociones Zanfer. The above duo will co-headline the Saturday night showdown and will witness Moises Fuentes
defend his WBO minimumweight title against Julio Cesar Felix in the main event.
The show will be televised live on Azteca channel and will definitely put forth the Mexican boxing fans an epic night to remember. Daniel recently attended the pre-bout press conference and shared his thoughts about the upcoming engagement.
Rosas, 22, has been in a total 14 bouts and boasts 13 wins. The young surging Mexican has nailed nine of his opponents by knockout and remains undefeated. He has never lost even a single bout and has collected just one draw decision against Jose Cabrera
in his favour.
Daniel engraved his name on the WBO Youth super flyweight title by nailing David Gaspar in the eighth round via technical knockout. Rosas will take on a slightly experienced brawler in the form of Enrique but this will not be a big problem as his last three
wins are over men who possessed substantial experience as compared to him.
During the media interaction, Daniel commented that he is ready to take on any kind of challenge and is looking forward to grab another shot at the world title. Rosas stated, “I am ready for a war, I know that Bernache is strong but we are ready for ten
intense rounds .I want another opportunity to fight for a world title and these are the tests I must pass. I had a great camp and the true winners of this fight will be the people of Tijuana.”
Enrique, 23, has been in a total 22 bouts and emerged victorious in 19. Also known as ‘The Duende’, Bernache has pinned 10 of his opponents by knockout and recently made a comeback on the win track by knocking out rookie Saul Hermosillo in the fourth round.
A bird’s eye view of both men clearly shows that the odds are in favour of Daniel who not only possesses a better resume but also a decent win ratio with a title round his waist and above all is on an undefeated streak.
