The Espanyol board member came out in the open to refute reports in Spanish sporting circles against himself and club chairman, Ramon Condal.
Espanyol shareholder, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Daniel-Sanchez-c10062 Llibre, has denounced the smear campaign against his character and the current Chairman, Ramon Condal. The executive attributed the media fiasco to a current member of Los Parakeets’ board.
Llibre was particularly outraged by reports in the media that he has sold his shares to Colombian club, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Millonarios-c39919. His remarks appeared in a statement made to station, Cope, claiming that the suggestions were false, and he has not had any contact with
the mentioned entity.
"This is false. I have not had any contact or know them," said the President.
The 61-year-old did not refuse to hide his disdain for the lobbying against him, claiming that they there are intended to hurt his reputation. Continuing on the topic, he added that what has been reported in the press, states what he and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ramon-c30533 Condal stand
against, and do not support at any length.
"I find it appalling. It's a smear campaign to me and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604. No leaks and I can understand some people want to hurt. This goes precisely now that both the current president and I have said we would support a candidate with our actions in elections,"
he added.
Llibre explained that he was told about the possible interest of Millionaire, but did not follow it up. Moreover, the businessman reported that he knows the current member of the management board who is responsible for the leak but refused to reveal his
identity.
"I know who the counselor is, but I will not say," Llibre commented.
Espanyol’s reported board room problems are bound to have a negative effect on the dressing room, who are already having a difficult time in La Liga. The Cornella-El Prat based entity are dead last in Primera Division rankings, with a paltry two points to
show against their names after seven league outings.
The Catalan club have been unimpressive in their performances during the 2012/13 campaign, amassing five La Liga defeats to date, while their two points coming from their draws against Athletic Bilbao at home and on the road to Real Valladolid.
