Daniel Sedin in Los Angeles to join Vancouver Canucks for practice -NHL Playoffs Update
Los Angeles Kings certainly surprised the National Hockey League (NHL) after they put Vancouver Canucks on the brink of elimination following game 3 of the 2012 Western Conference playoff quarterfinals.
There is not a time when Vancouver was so desperate to have Daniel Sedin on the line-up and luckily for them, it seems as if their top shooter will be rejoining them in primetime soon as the player made a trip to Los Angeles to join Canucks for practice
on Monday, April 16, 2012.
"It'll be great to have him back, even if it's just in practice," goalie Cory Schneider said. "In a series where goals are hard to come by, a 30-goal scorer would be huge."
Just seeing Henrik Sedin playing without his twin brother Daniel is not right in any way as the two produce an unstoppable duo that nearly led them to a Stanley Cup championship last year, but being eliminated in a 4-0 whitewash and that too in the opening
round would definitely be disappointing.
"We knew it was going to be like this," Henrik Sedin said. "I mean, we weren't hoping to be down 3-0, but we are. It's about how you respond, and if we can play on Wednesday the way we played (in Game 3), if we can get a bounce and get to their guy a little
bit and win one game, it's going to go quick."
Daniel Sedin went out earlier in the 2011-2012 NHL regular season following an elbow by Chicago Blackhawks’ Duncan Keith and missed a huge chunk of the remaining games. He made a comeback in the playoffs but went out again due to reoccurring concussion related
symptoms.
It has still not been confirmed whether Daniel Sedin will be participating with the team on Wednesday, April 18, 2012, for game 4 of the quarterfinal series but if he does not, than Vancouver has big possibility of being eliminated from the first round of
the playoffs.
Ending the season with a Presidents’ Trophy for being the leading team, Vancouver will prove the theory that being the best team in the regular season does not have anything to do with how they perform in the playoffs.
