Young http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Daniel-Sturridge-c10076 has denied rumours of a dressing room divide at Stamford Bridge ahead of the highly awaited UEFA Champions League clash against Napoli.
There have recently been reports of unrest at the London club, especially after manager Andre Villas-Boas came out in the open to claim that he was no longer supported by all the team. There were further reports of confrontation between the team and the
manager during the training session held right after the loss to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Everton-c13019.
However, despite all the on-goings at the club, Sturridge claimed the Blues were like a family and were united in all challenges. The 22-year-old was certain the Blues would prove they were together in what could be a season defining match at http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003.
Sturridge said while speaking to reporters:
“We are a family and we've got a good unit going here and I think maybe we will see that in the next few games.”
According to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Didier-Drogba-c11044 and the statistics, this is so far the worst season Chelsea have had since Roman Abramovich took over the club in 2003. The Blues are no longer in contention for the English Premier League and the Carling Cup and their chances
look slim in the UEFA Champions League and the FA Cup.
Sturridge believes the Blues have what it takes to make it through to the next round of the European competition, especially if they managed an improvement since the draw against Birmingham. According to the English striker, the key was to take the lead
first and work towards maintaining it.
He revealed:
“I don't think it is a defining week for the club but hopefully we don't get in the same situation as against Birmingham where we have to come from behind.
They have some great individuals as well as a good team but we have the same and we are not going to worry about what they have got.”
The Blues striker admitted they had not been at their best recently but felt that could all be changed after the match against Napoli. He revealed the squad had been working hard in training and had decided to return to winning ways starting from the Champions
League clash.
Sturridge continued:
“We are working hard in training and the standard has risen since the last couple of games. We know what we have got to do and we are not losing sight of that.”
