Daniel Sturridge tips ‘experienced’ Chelsea to win against Valencia – Champions League news
In-form Chelsea striker http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Daniel-Sturridge-c10076 has tipped his side to win against Valencia when the two teams lock horns at Stamford Bridge later tonight.
The former Manchester City attacker believes that Villas-Boas’ men have more experience of playing ‘big games’ and that experience will prove to be the decisive factor against Unai Emery’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Valencia-c40863.
While talking to UEFA.com on the eve of the crucial fixture, Sturridge said:
“I think the players we have in the squad are used to playing in big games. They have played in World Cup semi-finals and Champions League finals, so playing a game like this doesn't make any difference, they're well prepared and it doesn't
change.”
The attacker brushed off speculations that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 would be under immense pressure to perform, expressing that there are no easy games at this level.
He added:
“Every game is difficult in the Champions League; there are no easy games. The best teams in Europe are playing, but we go into every game trying to win and tomorrow night will be no different. We're focusing on tomorrow's game and we're not thinking
about what will happen if we lose.”
Chelsea go into this match on the back of a morale boosting 3-0 win over Newcastle United away from home. Sturridge scored the final goal after a nightmare outing for most of the match where he squandered several golden opportunities, often in one-on-one
situations.
