Daniel Tranter clinches Men 200m IM gold: Day one – 2012 NSW Metropolitan Championships
Daniel Tranter of SOSC clinched gold medal of the Long Course 200m Individual Medley (IM) final in Men 16 and Over category on first day of the 2012 New South Wales (NSW) Metropolitan Championships at the Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre on Saturday, March
3.
The 20-year-old Tranter lived up to the expectations of his supporters as he overpowered his rivals in the four-lap IM event. He confronted strong contest from Kenneth To of TRGR in the initial three laps, but with his fascinating effort in the final lap,
Tranter proved his supremacy for gold medal.

and 10.53 seconds, set by Andrew Kennedy of NCAQ in 2010.
Nevertheless, To stayed almost one second slower than his former finisher and settled on the medal rostrum for silver medal with an effort of 2 minutes and 00.74 seconds. Kennedy remained nearly nine seconds slower than his former finisher and clocked 2
minutes and 09.71 seconds for bronze medal.
