Daniel Vettori reiterates his plans of giving up captaincy role at the end of 2011 World Cup

The 31-year-old prolific all-rounder from http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Auckland-c766, who has recently lost some of his powers in the selection process after being axed from the selection panel, said on Monday that his decision of leaving the captaincy position at the end
of World Cup event would not be affected by his team’s performance in the esteemed quadrennial event.
"I still stand by those words of finishing up after the World Cup," the New Zealand captain was quoted as saying by a local journal. "I understand things can change and there may be a chance for that, but at this point I will finish after
the cup," reaffirmed Vettori who has opted to miss the three-match T20 series against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 for nursing his back.
The Kiwis have had a struggling 2010 season and most recently had winless tours of India and Bangladesh in last two months, the countries to host 2011 ICC World Cup besides http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758. Both the tours were part of New Zealand’s World Cup preparation

The slump in form led to restructuring of the management in which Vettori lost his role as selector while the coach Mark Greatbatch was replaced by John Wright.
Vettori and his teammate Ross http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Taylor-c92915, who is leading the Black Caps in T20 series in the absence of regular captain, heaped praises for the newly appointed coach who had taken over the charge last Monday.
"His real skills are getting around players and making them feel confident," said Vettori.
Taylor praised ethos of Wright saying that the new coach emphasizes on the team effort and wants his men to play as a collective unit, "That is the first thing he has instilled in us," said Taylor. “He is trying to get everyone to trust
himself."
