Daniel Vettori to miss game against Kolkata http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Knight-c71599 Riders
The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) captain, Daniel Vettori, will not be a part of his franchise in the upcoming game against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).
He has been struggling with a knee injury, which he sustained during a pool match of the ICC World Cup 2011 against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Rajasthan-c837 Royals (RR).
The promising Indian youngster, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Virat-Kohli-c95424, was given the responsibility to lead RCB in the absence of the regular skipper. He did a decent job, leading his team to victory, but wanted Vettori to be fit and available in the upcoming games.
According to Kohli, “He's [Vettori] gone back home to see his surgeon, someone he generally consults. He will try to get back and be fit for the upcoming games. We will just have to wait and watch what happens with that. Obviously, it's a loss for us and
it's unfortunate.”
Kohli further added, “It's been happening to us for the last two years as well. We have lost important players at important times due to injuries, it's never a good thing for the team. But we have got reserves in the side who are willing to do well and who
are willing to go out there, who are really talented and thinking cricketers.”
RCB will also be without their regular opening batsman, Tillakaratne Dlshan, who has returned to http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758 for national duty. The flamboyant player made a formidable opening pair with West Indian dynamite, Chris Gayle.
Both batsmen have the ability to blow the opposition away in a very short time and have done a decent job in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Dilshan struggled to make an impression in the opening few matches of the lucrative league, but found his lost touch in the last couple of games.
He didn’t have Gayle in the opening half of the tournament, as he was not picked up by the franchise. However, an injury to fast bowler, Dirk Nannes, provided an opportunity to the aggressive West Indian, who grabbed it with both hands.
Gayle has scored two blistering tons for his team until now and his team hasn’t lost a game since he joined.
