Manchester United’s youth academy product Daniel Welbeck has come out and expressed his happiness at playing regularly for Manchester United. The English U-21 international was out on loan at Sunderland last season as Sir http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-c4752
Ferguson’s team won the English Premier League yet again to secure their 19th English league title.
In doing so, Manchester United overhauled Liverpool’s record of 18 title wins. Currently Untied are once again the favourites to win the league but this time Sir Alex Ferguson has gone with an exceptionally young team for the English
Premier League campaign. Youth was at the centre of Manchester United’s preseason which resulted in their 2-1 win over http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/United-States-c3034 after losing to the Catalan giants in the UEFA Champions League final last season at Wembley.
Cleverley and Welbeck along with the likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Anderson-c5565 were at the heart of United’s Community Shield win over Manchester City as well when the Red Devils came back from a two goal deficit to win by three goals to two
in the end. Last season when Welbeck was on loan to Steve Bruce’s Sunderland, he became an integral part of the Black Cats’ line up as he excelled in the first half of the season by partnering http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Darren-Bent-c10358 in attack for the Tyneside club.
Bruce was also impressed with Welbeck’s development and he wanted to keep him at Sunderland but Sir Alex opted to end the loan deal to bring the young target man back to Old Trafford. The veteran Scotsman handed Welbeck his first
competitive start of the season when Manchester United faced off against West Bromwich Albion last weekend. The young striker was eventually substituted as he had an ineffective match but Ferguson has already confirmed that this season’s title defence in Manchester
United’s case will be based upon the enthusiasm of their youthful squad.
Welbeck said in his recent interview, "My main aim when I went to Sunderland was to get games in the Premier League. I did that and I think I handled it pretty well. When you're playing week in, week out it really helps your confidence.
You get on a run with things which helps your form and you pick up so many little things along the way which are invaluable.”
He further stated, "I'm pretty happy with the way things have gone so far," he added. "I'm delighted to have been starting up front and I've put in a few decent performances. Playing games is what I want to be doing. I don’t want
to be sitting on the bench. I want to be playing regularly for Manchester United. There’s nothing better than that and that's my main aim."
