Daniel Wells earns two-year pro tour ticket from World Snooker Q School – Snooker News
Second event of World Snooker Qualifying School (Q School) finished at the World Snooker Academy featuring four new potters who will now be a part of the World Snooker journey for the next two years. The Welshman showed great determination throughout the
event and pocketed some important victories to reach the semi-final stage of the tournament.
Wells has qualified for the pro tour for the second time in his career on the basis of his top ranks in the Welsh National Snooker rankings. Despite that, last year he was able to win the pro tour ticket after he clinched the 2011 European Snooker Championship
and European Team Championship which added to his current form and skills as he made his way successfully into the professional circuit.
This year, the 23-year-old needed to enter the initial stages of any major ranking snooker tournament through winning four qualifying games so that he could be ranked. However, he was able to win only three qualifying matches and failed to rank himself in
the World Snooker rankings.
Missing a chance to add his name to the World Rankings, he failed to qualify directly for the professional circuit and he had to take part in the 2012 World Snooker Q School. However, winning through the Q School event must have been a great experience for
the young lad and he must be looking forward for a superb snooker season.
Wells started his Q School campaign brilliantly with some noticeable easy wins in his first couple of rounds. After he built his momentum, he started playing sensibly and according to the situations which helped him beat his opponents with reasonable margin.
Nevertheless, he did have some tussling encounters during his run but the young Welshman managed well to make it to the semi-final stage.
The next two years are not only and golden opportunity for the youngster to polish his skills and show his talent to the whole world but at the same time, it is going to be crucial for him because his performance in these two seasons will determine his snooker
future. Wells will be looking to pull up his socks and set his goals before he joins other major potters in the professional circuits.
