Daniel van Buyten moots Olympique Marseille move, will stay with Bayern Munich
Bayern Munich centre back, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Daniel-c9879 van Buyten, has expressed desire of staying at Allianz-Arena for at least another season, denying speculations of moving to Olympique Marseille.
It was recently reported that Olympique Marseille are interested in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Daniel-Van-Buyten-c10095. Les Phoceens are believed to be preparing an official bid for the defender as they want to recruit him during the upcoming January transfer window.
Bayern officials, on the other hand, have denied any such speculations and have clearly stated their stance on the player’s transfer. The Reds are in no mood to sell the defender especially since he is a first team regular.
The Bavarians manager, Jupp Heynckes, opined that the 33-year-old is an asset to the club and would hold on to him by any means.
Heynckes also showered praise on the defender for his achievements since tying knots with the Allianz-Arena outfit in 2006. He urged the player to concentrate on the game rather than lending ears to speculations.
The player himself was confident of staying with the Bavarian giants at least for the full length of his contract despite being linked with the clubs like Marseille and Leverkusen.
While talking to reporters on transfer speculations, Van Buyten said:
“I’m playing with Bayern Munich and I hope to remain doing so. I feel happy here and I still believe I am value to the team. I would just normally my contract, but I am willing to leave if Bayern want to sell.”
The Belgian stopper joined Bayern in 2006 and so far has 128 league appearances to his name, scoring 17 goals during the process.
The centre back will next be seen in action on Saturday, November 19, in what is regarded as clash of the titans against the reigning champions, Borussia Dortmund.
