The former Parma centre-back has given his opinion on the toughest striker and defender in the Serie A, and also spoke on his versatile role within AC Milan.
The Rossoneri defender is thankful for the break the teams have gotten due to the postponement of the week 33 fixtures of the Serie A. There had been many people suggesting
that the high number of matches were taking a toll on the side and that it reflected in their performances over the course of the season.
The League matches were postponed following the death of Livorno midfielder, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Piermario-Morosini-c29986, who collapsed in the match against Pescara in their Serie B Lega match.
Consequently, FIGC called off all the matches in the Italian Championships.
There are a further six set of matches remaining in the Serie A and Bonera’s team are a point adrift from the current League toppers, Juventus. The Rossoneri lost five points
in their recent matches, which led to Antonio Conte’s men capitalising on the slip-up by the Milanello.
Bonera was reflecting on the toughest striker in the Serie A, and felt that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Zlatan-Ibrahimovic-c38029 was the best striker and he was happy that he was in his team at Milan. However,
when asked who he thought was the best defender in the Lega, Bonera stated that he held http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Andrea-Barzagli-c5669 in high regards, and had proven his quality over the course of the season. He replied:
“Who is the toughest striker to mark in Serie A? Zlatan Ibrahimovic, which is why I am happy he is on my side! As for opposition defenders, I really admire Andrea Barzagli.
He’s had a great season at Juventus and I like his attitude, as he never stirs up trouble and always gives his contribution.”
Massimiliano Allegri’s outfit has been plagued with a number of injuries this term, which has meant that Bonera has had more appearances as compared to last season. He replied
on the predicament by stating:
“In recent years I’d have two days of training and spend the next two on the treatment table, but this time I feel more confident. I’m happy to be versatile, because it’s
important for a Coach to have players who can take on different positions.”
Milan will be playing Bologna in their next match in the Lega on the 22nd April 2012.
