The Diavolo player has remarked that the break was a blessing in disguise for Milan, and would allow them to recuperate from the
hectic schedule they have been in.
Milan’s involvement in the UEFA Champions League meant that the team had been playing matches on a consistent basis. They had been involved in
as many as three matches in a week, which took a toll on the players, as they were consequently exhausted from all their endeavours in the league and Europe.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ignazio-Abate-c16673 stated last week that there were too many matches played in succession which meant that the players were more fatigued and did not
have time to recuperate.
Bonera commented on the resurgence of Juventus and the impact Antonio Conte had on the Bianconeri. He stated:
“From the start of the season we
realised something had changed at Juventus, as Antonio
Conte has given them the grit they had lost in recent years.”
However, the former Brescia stopper also went on to state that the achievements of Milan under the coaching of Massimiliano Allegri should not
be overlooked. He stated that the number of points collected by the Rossoneri over the course of the two seasons was phenomenal. He further commented:
“But we will not forget what Milan have done over the past two years. If we look at the number of points we have notched up in two seasons, it’s
exceptional.
Bonera mentioned that no matches were easy in the Lega, and that had been proved by their performance in the match against Fiorentina. He further
commented that the players had got more time now with the break they have received. He further commented:
“No games are easy and we proved that with our home defeat to Fiorentina. The break has allowed many of our players to catch a breath and do personalised
work in training, which we hadn’t been able to do in the past month with three games a week.”
The week 33 fixtures of the Serie A were called off by the FIGC, following the death of the Livorno midfielder, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Piermario-Morosini-c29986, who died of
a cardiac arrest in the match.
