The talismanic midfielder revelling in his new role and predicts a bright future for Federico Viviani
A.S http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Daniele-De-Rossi-c10112 is content with his team’s 1-1 draw against Juventus at the Stadio Olimpico Rome on Monday, December 12, 2011.
It took only five minutes for De Rossi to open the scoring for the host’s before http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Francesco-Totti-c13940 scored from
the penalty kick but the skipper’s effort was smartly saved by http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gianluigi-Buffon-c14833.
Despite that, De Rossi believes that a draw is a fair result as both teams played the game on equal footing. The Italian international praised his side for putting up a really competitive show in the absence of few of their top
stars.
“The draw was the right result. We played an open game of football and we worked hard to make up for the absences in the side.”
De Rossi was deployed as a centre back in the absence of Juan, Simon Kjaer and Nicolas Burdisso. The 28-year-old admitted that playing in the defence was a very difficult task but he enjoyed the extra responsibility and thanked
his partner, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gabriel-Heinze-c14310 for making things easier for him.
“I was helped by all of the side and Gabriel Heinze in particular. Playing in that role increased my responsibility. It’s hard work, though, perhaps even harder than playing in midfield.”
The Italian also heaped special praise on youngster, Federico Viviani, who was making his first-team debut for the club. Viviani was rewarded for his recent performances in the club’s reserve setup and De Rossi believes that the
19-year-old has a bright future ahead of him. He added the midfielder is a clever operator and he is ready to play in the first-team.
“He played great. I consider him as the youngster who is best prepared to play in the first team. He has time in front of him and I would bet on him – also in the immediate future. Obviously my opinion doesn’t matter, it is the
Coach who decides, but I like him.”
Roma will take on http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003 in their next game on Sunday, December 18, 2011.
