The AS http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roma-c31603 vice-captain has come to the defence of the match official after Derby della Capitale defeat; conceding the Giallorossi are not at Lazio’s level.
The Italian international has admitted that his Roma side has been struggling to find consistency this season, and have not been on par with their capital counterparts.
AS Roma goalkeeper http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Miroslav-Klose-c26049 in the penalty box. The match ended in a 2-1 defeat for the
Giallorossi, and such sending off’s usually ignite debates in footballing circles over the referee’s competency.
However, De Rossi has exclaimed that the fault does not lie with the match official, and it rests with his own team.
The playmaker cried that things have not been going their way this season, and accepted that in the past, he was extremely vociferous in his rants over refereeing decisions. However, this match was officiated
properly and the fault lay with the team that lost.
In his interview with the Roma Channel, the Italian midfielder commented:
“I talked about referees for a lifetime, I complained, got bitter, but it’s not remotely productive. I don’t think the referee did anything that shocking today. The problem is that when going down to 10 men,
you have to give up on playing, so that is frustrating.”
De Rossi feels that Scaloni deserved his red-card, after picking up his second booking in the 86th minute of the match. He also stressed that the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wolves-c40952 need to get their act together and start
playing at a consistent level.
Edy Reja’s side have been marred with injuries in their squad, and have been in turmoil of their own, with the manager handing in his resignation before the second-leg at Atletico Madrid. Despite all the chaos, the former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003
boss has managed to get the most out of his players.
The Giallorossi star added:
“The truth is we made mistakes in defence, particularly on the free kick for Stefano Mauri’s goal, but when you play for 10 men practically the entire match then that happens. It’s a shame.”
La Maggica have been languishing in the 6th spot for majority of the season, and hopes of European action next season seem to fade away with every match.
