Daniele De Rossi reflects on the “fascinating” tie against Spain

The Nazionale midfielder has spoken of the importance and the fascination he attributes with their first encounter of the European Championships, against Spain.
During his interview with UEFA, in which De Rossi was pondering over their chances and the needs of the Italian side to succeed in the Championships, the midfielder reflected on their match against Spain.

Reflecting on their last encounter, De Rossi stated that the Spaniards have gone from strength to strength after being victorious in the European Championships in 2008. De Rossi was of the opinion that the victory against the Italians

He reflected on a match and stated that the game was evenly poised despite Spain’s possession. He was also of the opinion that Italy would have gone on to be the European champions had they won that match on penalties.
