The Giallorossi chief announces an agreement with the Italian international, and praises him for his dedication and commitment for the club
AS Roma have confirmed that talismanic midfielder, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Daniele-De-Rossi-c10112, has agreed a five-year extension at Stadio Olimpico Rome.
De Rossi’s contract at http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roma-c31603 has been subject of huge tension between the club and the player, but they have put the uncertainty about his future aside by agreeing a new deal. The Italian’s previous contract was due to expire at
the end of the 2011/12 season, and after continuous failed negotiations, it was believed that the Italian international will move out of Rome in the summer.
Club General Manager, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Franco-c14050 Baldini, announced the deal immediately after his team’s commanding 4-0 win over Inter Milan. Baldini revealed that they had agreed a contract with the midfielder last week, but they did not make it
public, as it would have distracted the team.
The chief insisted that they will hold a press conference to clarify the details of the contract, and thanked the club officials for keeping the deal silent. He insisted that they had to face a lot of difficulties in reaching a
deadlock with the player, but the midfielder’s intentions were always clear that he wanted to stay at the club.
While talking to the reporters, Baldini said,
“We reached the agreement during the week, but didn’t want to distract from the game against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567. I apologise to all those members of staff who had to deny a deal had been reached, as it would’ve been inopportune to talk about
it before the match."
“There were difficulties in completing the talks because we were no longer technically the club in charge, as he was free to sign for whoever he wanted. We are happy that we’re the team he wanted to sign for and that says a lot
about his intentions."
De Rossi has spent his entire career at Stadio Olimpico Rome since emerging from the youth ranks of the club in 2001. The midfielder has made 375 appearances for the Giallorossi so far, and the new deal means that he will remain
a one club man like his skipper, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Francesco-Totti-c13940.
