The Bayern Munich midfielder is eyeing a stay at Allianz Arena until the end of 2011/12 season, and vows to keep fighting for his place.
Despite stating his intentions of leaving Bayern Munich in the January transfer window, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Danijel-Pranjic-c10154 has changed his mind, and has decided to stay at Allianz-Arena until the end of this season.
Pranjic’s contract with Bayern will expire next year in June after which he will be a free agent. The midfielder has failed to establish himself in the plans of Jupp Heynckes since the manager took over before the start of the
2011/12 season.
The 30-year-old has followed in the footsteps of his teammate, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ivica-Olic-c17399, who has also decided to stay until June despite finding himself out of favour at Allianz-Arena.
The left back was certain to leave in January, but he has vowed to fight for his place in the starting line-up. Pranjic is confident that he and his Croatian teammate, Olic, will get more first-team opportunities after the winter
break.
While talking to Sportske Novosti, the 30-year-old further mentioned:
"I have reconciled with myself that I will stay here. Now, as every year, [I will] prepare under the impression that I will play. I think the coach will give myself and Ivica more opportunities."
It is assumed that the duo has been forced to stay at the club by Bayern president, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, who has clearly stated that no player will be allowed to leave in January.
Several Bundesliga clubs are interested in signing Pranjic, and Stuttgart is believed to be the likely destination for the left-sided midfielder.
The defender landed at Allianz-Arena in 2009 and has managed 50 league appearances thus far. However, he has only managed two league appearances in the current season until now.
Bayern are in contention to win multiple honours, and Jupp Heynckes wants to retain his current squad until the end of the season. Bayern currently lead the Bundesliga standings, and have also qualified for the knockout rounds
of DFB Pokal and UEFA Champions League.
