Danila Artiomov earns Boys 100m breaststroke gold: Day five – European Junior Swimming Championships
Danila Artiomov of Moldova earned gold medal of the Boys 100m breaststroke on fifth day of the 2012 European Junior Swimming Championships in Antwerp, Belgium on Sunday, July 8.
Artiomov served notice of his unmatchable talent in the breaststroke discipline as he outperformed his challengers over the finishing end for gold medal.
With his astonishing efforts, he remained just a touch ahead of his following swimmer and sprinted his way towards the finishing blockade with the timing of 1 minute and 01.60 seconds for the title of the discipline.
The champion remained 0.01 seconds faster from his subsequent swimmer, Johannes Skagius of Sweden, who snared silver medal of the discipline by submitting a time of 1 minute and 01.61 seconds.
Second position holder was chased by Craig Benson of Great Britain, who stayed only 0.03 seconds slower from overpowering his foregoing finisher and made his way to the victory stand for bronze medal with the timing of 1 minute and 01.64 seconds.
Bronze medallist was chased by Vsevolod Zanko of Russia, who remained 0.26 seconds apart and sprinted his way towards the finishing end as fourth position holder with the timing of 1 minute and 01.90 seconds.
Fifth position of the event was secured by Fedor Bredikhin of Russia, who stayed 0.52 seconds slower from his former finisher and tapped the wall with an effort of 1 minute and 02.42 seconds.
The Russian swimmer was trailed by Ross Murdoch of Great Britain, who was only 0.08 seconds apart and ended his swim in sixth best place by clocking a time of 1 minute and 02.50 seconds.
Seventh position of the discipline was obtained by Dmytro Oseledets of Ukraine, who suffered a loss of 0.06 seconds over his foregoing finisher and submitted a time of 1 minute and 02.56 seconds.
Last position of the discipline was gained by Moises Daniel Loschi of Italy, who ended eighth in the event with the timing of 1 minute and 03.76 seconds.
Artiomov was happy with his accomplishment on concluding day of the championship and stated that he will try to do the same at upcoming events.
