Danila Izotov captures Men’s 200m freestyle title – Swimming news
Danila Izotov of Krasnodar region captured gold medal of the Men’s 200m freestyle on the fifth day of the 2013 Russian National Swimming Championships in Moscow on Thursday, June 20.
With his impeccable efforts in the playoff of the 200m discipline, Izotov remained in a comfortable lead over his closest competitor as he rushed his way towards the finishing end for the title.
With his notable form, he enjoyed a lead of half body length over his toughest challenger and pocketed the title with the timing of 1 minute and 48.07 seconds.
Vyacheslav Andrusenko of St Petersburg, who was 0.95 seconds slower and cruised his way towards the finishing end for the title with an effort of 1 minute and 49.02 seconds, chased the champion.
The second best finisher was chased by Dmitry Ermakov of Moscow, who was only 0.24 seconds away from his preceding swimmer and emerged on the finishing end for bronze medal by producing an effort of 1 minute and 49.26 seconds.
Fourth best finisher was chased by Michael Polishchuk of Moscow, who was just 0.03 seconds apart and hit the finishing wall for fourth place by producing an effort of 1 minute and 49.29 seconds.
Fifth fastest spot of the discipline was secured by Artem Lobuzov of Moscow, who was full body length behind and concluded his race in a time of 1 minute and 50.16 seconds.
Similarly, Lobuzov was chased by his teammate, Yegor Degtyarev, who was just one arm stroke away from upsetting his preceding finisher and posted an effort of 1 minute and 50.44 seconds for sixth place.
Paul Medvetskaya of Moscow, who suffered a loss of 0.05 seconds from his former finisher and posted an effort of 1 minute and 50.49 seconds, obtained seventh position of the race.
Eighth position of the race was obtained by Stepan Surkov of Saratov region, who was 0.27 seconds apart and tapped the wall with the timing of 1 minute and 50.76 seconds.
Furthermore, Izotov received a huge round of applause from the audience for his commendable form while the winners received accolades after the race.
