Danilo Gallinari's name surfaces in Carmelo Anthony trade rumours

The latest rumour to surface in the Carmelo Anthony trade saga is a report that the New York Knicks are in serious negotiations with the Denver Nuggets, involving a trade that would include Anthony and
Knicks player Danilo Gallinari.
Gallinari not worried
The third year forward, Gallinari, has struggled this pre-season shooting 34 percent from the floor. When asked about his inconsistent performance he said he'd improve in the regular season.
"It's been up and down for many reasons. For sure, I cannot be like that. It's pre-season, but I can't be like that during the season," said Gallinari.
In Sunday’s win against the Washington Wizards, Gallinari went 0-for-7 from the field ultimately leading to his being sidelined in the third quarter.
The exact reasons for Gallinari’s fickle performance are not known but there has been speculation that it is caused by the rumours of trade scenarios involving Anthony and himself. Gallinari denies being
bothered by these rumours.
Gallinari stressed not his indifference to a possible trade but his complete ignorance to the possibility of one.
"I've never been upset or worried about the trade, I have been saying this from the beginning. I never receive call from my agent or my team. I'm not worried at all about the trades," said the struggling
forward.

Management under pressure

The Nuggets have shown little interest in what the Knicks have to offer, but that may all change if the Knicks are able to offer some kind of trade scenario that would include a first round draft pick. The
problem with this is that the Knicks have already traded their 2011 first round draft pick to the Houston Rockets, therefore the Knicks would have to get one from another team before going after Anthony.

Anthony is set to become a free agent in July but president of basketball operations Donnie Walsh and coach Mike D'Antoni of the Knicks are under pressure to make the play-offs but their pre-season seems
to point to a different fate. There record thus far in the pre-season is just two wins with three losses.
