Danilo Petrucci and Colin Edwards face issues with their new bikes at Misano – MotoGP news
Danilo Petrucci and Colin Edwards are facing minor issues with their new bikes after the partnership of IodaRacing Project and Suter Racing with a BMW engine.
Colin Edwards adjusted to his bike in the very first race after the partnership while Petrucci struggled with some issues however the Italian rider is satisfied that he successfully made it to the finish line at the Italian Grand Prix.
Edwards believes that wet practice along with new electronics at Misano was not enough for a dry circuit during the race however he adjusted with the setting in the first two laps on Sunday. After getting used to the settings he enjoyed riding as the electronics
allow a rider to shift weight on the rear. He felt as if he is competitive among other riders. He admires his team for their tiresome effort with very little track time.
He said, “I started the race and had no idea how it was going to work or if it was going to work, and just like in Brno, it took about 2 laps for me to figure it out and get comfortable.”
Furthermore, Edwards told that there are minor issues with the bike but still he believes that the race at Misano was good.
On the other hand, Danilo Petrucci said that he knew that the Italian Grand Prix would be difficult because they had very less time to practice over the dry circuit. Despite having limited time his team was able to set up the bike but he started facing problems
from the 5th lap of the race. The problems were related to quick shift and the clutch however he managed to finish the race which leaves the Italian rider satisfied.
Petrucci said, “I know that it would be an hard race because we did just one practice on the dry with a brand new bike, but my team found the right way to set up the bike.”
Petrucci finished the Italian GP at 14th attaining 2 championship points. He believes that the two points are very useful for the Spain Grand Prix at Aragon. The Suter rider, Edwards finished at the 11th position.
