http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 leg-spinner, Danish Kaneria, is all set to take legal action against his former skipper, Salman Butt, for dragging his name into the fixing scandal, the trials for which are ongoing.
In the court hearing of the spot-fixing case of the three Pakistani cricketers, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mohammad-Asif-c1993, the former skipper told that Kaneria was the man who introduced him
with the bookie, Mazhar Majeed who is the most important person in the case.
Responding to Salman’s serious allegations, Kaneria stated that he is extremely angry at Salman for stating such nonsense and will go in the court against the left-handed opener.
“I am furious over what Salman Butt has said and I will take legal action against him as early as possible. I only came to know about Mazhar Majeed after Butt, Mohammad Asif and Mohammad Amir
were caught. The thing is that Butt is now realising that he cannot run away from punishment, so in order to divert the attention of the court he is involving others as well," The News quoted Kaneria as saying.
On the other side, the leg-spinner is yet to clear himself from Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) after being accused of fixing during English domestic tournament.
The governing body of the game is still waiting on Kaneria to provide some necessary documents before allowing him to resume International cricket.
During Pakistan’s tour to http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013, where the Spot-fixing controversially stirred up last year, Kaneria was the part of the team but later dropped out of the squad for the last two Tests of
the series.
Referring to his exclusion from the national crew after the opening two games of the Test series against the Englishmen, the leg-spinner uttered that he was deliberately sidelined by Salman
who just wanted to keep his men in the team to continue such misconduct.
"I was purposely sidelined so that they can do such malpractice because a player who is accompanying a team is never released like that on a tour," added the 30-year-old spinner who is hopeful
of making his comeback to the International level after being cleared by the PCB soon.
