Pakistan’s out-of-favour leg-spinner, Danish Kaneria, has managed to attain a visa for the United Kingdom after a series of complications, and will be flying to London on june 14 in order to appear before the England and Wales Cricket board disciplinary
hearing to which he has been summoned on spot-fixing charges.
“Danish has finally got his visa to travel to London and is scheduled to fly out on June 14 with his lawyer, Faroog Naseem, to attend the hearing. He is confident he will be cleared at the hearing of all charges,” confirmed a source close to the 31-year-old.
Kaneria was arrested but later released by the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Essex-c783 police on charges of involvement in spot-fixing. He was named earlier this year during the trial of pacer Mervyn Westfield as the middle-man who had set-up the deal which saw the 24-year-old accepting
a corrupt payment of 6000 pounds in exchange for bowling deliberate no-balls during a Pro-40 match in September 2009 between http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Durham-c782 and Essex.
Westfield has been released after serving half his jail term, and both he and Kaneria are to appear at the ECB hearing which will be chaired by Gerard Elias QC, chief of the ECB's cricket discipline commission.

De Winter, who is currently assistant coach of the Tasmanian Tigers, is among the potential candidates Cricket Australia is considering for the post which was vacated by http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Craig-John-McDermott-c51704 last month.
De Winter has been granted the opportunity for a trial tour, as he has been appointed interim bowling coach for the Aussies’ ODI tour of England, scheduled to begin on June 23. However, the 44-year is far from stressed at the prospect of making a good first
impression.
“I'm looking at the trip at the moment as purely an opportunity to professionally develop rather than feel the pressure of being on trial ... I'm just trying not to put too much pressure on myself,” he said.
