Zenit St. Petersburg striker, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Danko-Lazovic-c10188, has rebuffed reports linking him with a move away from the Russian Premier League this season, revealing that he has not considered his future elsewhere.
Reports in Russia had suggested that the Russian cup winner was set to pack his bags during the transfer window after a dispute with Luciano Spalletti, the Meshki head coach, over lack of first team football.
Consequently, Zenit lined up Juventus striker http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Vincenzo-Iaquinta-c36199 earlier this month. However, the St. Petersburg failed to land the Italian striker for reasons yet to be disclosed.
Lazovic has now expressed that he is happy with the Russian outfit and assured the fans that he wants to end his career at Petrovsky stadium.
“I want to stay at Zenit, because I am happy here. I consider myself lucky to be in a dream team to play in the Champions League every other season. I don’t know who started these conversations but I can assure you that I never
thought to leave this club and have never discussed this issue with anyone.” The Russian Cup winner was quoted as saying.
“As far as my relations with the coach are concerned, they are smooth. Sometimes a player is playing, sometimes not, but it is absolutely normal situation.” Lazovic added.
If speculations are to be believed, Anzhi Makhachkala also tried to secure Lazovic’s signature during the transfer window. However, he remained tight-lipped over the situation and expressed his desire to finish his playing career
at Zenit.
