Danmar Benny looking great in Townviewfoods.com Champion Plate Semi-final at Shelbourne Park
Danmar Benny is all set to build on his recent good performance, and turn in the Townviewfoods.com Champion Plate Semi-final, taking place at Shelbourne Park on Saturday, July 14th.
The black dog has been very consistent over the past few weeks. He came to this track with a bang, showing a magnificent performance in mid June. In a 550 yards contest, Hades Rocket’s son missed the victory only by a head’s margin.
He broke the shackles at the end of last month, winning an open race with plenty of ease. The dashing hound beat, Stay Thirsty, by one and one-half lengths to ensure a convincing victory. Perpetuating his good work, Danmar Benny displayed a classy show last weekend, but remained slightly unlucky.
In a high profile meeting, he missed the glory only by a neck’s distance. He was not a part of the front row mostly during the race, but an excellent finish guided him to the prominent spot.
Having made a few superb outings, the hound is pumped up with confidence, and his chances of winning are quite obvious tonight.
Among his rivals are: Razldazl Apollo, Lolos Joe, Airforce Frankie, Tyrur Justin, and Crossfield Star. The €100 event is scheduled to get underway at 21:00 (GMT).
Razldazl Apollo, D. Ruth’s trainee, is one of the high profile hounds. The fawn dog has the ability to produce a good result in a race of this nature, but one should not make a blind bet only considering his track-record, because currently he hasn't been performing consistently.
Lolos Joe completed his excellent hat-trick before falling fifth last time out. It would be a tough task for him to bounce back against this line-up.
Airforce Frankie won a similar contest last weekend, but his actual running time was not as impressive as Danmar Benny's. Similar is the case with Crossfield Star, who needs to step up on his fresh trial effort.
According to our calculations, the real contest will be between Danmar Benny and Lolos Joe. The former of the two is a better choice, because he is in good shape these days. Good luck to all the runners.
