Danny Blind, Ajax Amsterdam technical director, has revealed that RSC Anderlecht’s Dmitri Bulykin is far too expensive and too old for his side. The 31-year-old was heavily linked with a move to join the Amsterdammers in the ongoing summer transfer market.
The veteran striker spent the 2010/11 season on loan at http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Anzhi-Makhachkala-c39068 and
Ajax.
After manager Frank de Boer revealed that his side are looking to sign a striker similar to the Russian ace, reports in Dutch media went into overdrive speculating an Amsterdam move for Bulykin.
However, Blind has now clearly indicated that his side are not interested in adding the 31-year-old to their ranks and revealed that De Boer’s comments were taken out of context.
“Those comments were taken out of context. Frank simply said that he is interested in signing a striker like Bulykin. A strong guy who can do something. However, Bulykin is 31 years and deserves a lot of money. In addition, Anderlecht also want a transfer
fee for him. That’s just not possible”, Blind said while talking to the media.
The Amsterdammers have already signed Kolbeinn Sigthorsson from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/AZ-c38571 Alkmaar and now intend to lure another striker to provide support to the Icelandic International.
De Joden technical director then went on to reveal that his side is looking to sign a striker who could make competition stiffer for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Siem-de-Jong-c33482.
“Actually, we need a striker that can compete with Siem de Jong, or perform even better. This shows how difficult is our quest”, Blind concluded.
Bulykin’s current contract with Anderlecht runs until the summer of 2012 and the Belgian giants are reportedly looking to cash-in on the striker rather than letting him go on a free transfer.
