Danny Care wants to win Premiership and put troubled season behind him - Rugby News Update
The Harlequins' star, Danny Care, has spoken honestly prior to Saturday’s Premiership final against the inform Leicester, on how the injury before the Rugby World Cup changed his life.
The troubled Care had been in the middle of a lot of disputes throughout this year, but the scrum-half proclaims that he has forgotten his past and is now ready to star in Saturday’s Premiership final against the inform Leicester.
The scrum-half was dropped from the England team when he was caught drinking while driving on New Year’s Day, which is one of four arrests in as many months.
The 25-year old player was found guilty on two incidents; he was caught twice urinating under the influence of alcohol and the most recent allegation of sexual assault, which he denies.
The talented Care found help in the Harlequins' psychologist, Kate Hayes. The psychologist eventually helped the troubled player understand that he was wasting a privileged opportunity.
The scrum-half has given up alcohol and has done enough to prove to the England coach that he can be trusted again in next month’s tour to South Africa.
"I owe a lot of people a big performance on Saturday," Care said. "I have learned a lot of hard lessons. To be thrown out of the England squad is the worst thing you could ever have happen to you as a player."
For six years Care has been at Harlequins, who were leading the points board from the third week of the season, and every member of the team knows how important it is to win a Premiership title for the club.
"This club is dying to win a trophy and to win the Premiership is what we set out to do. It would be a dream come true to be crowned the best team in England. We have had a few tough times in recent years. Hopefully we can
do something special."
Danny Care would want to put his troubling season behind him, by leading his team to their first Premiership title and becoming the number one side in England.
