Danny Garcia promises rematch against Erik Morales would be better – Boxing News
WBC and WBA light welterweight champion Danny Garcia has promised fans that his rematch against Mexican legend Erik Morales would be way better than the first fight.
“This fight is going to be way better than that,” said Garcia in a press conference. “Morales is going to come more ready, more in shape, I'm going to come ready, more in shape. This fight is going to be a bigger war.”
Garcia, who currently believes it is his time to rule the division, is frustrated by his opponents calling him a man with shinning luck. According to Garcia, the time has come for him to prove his mettle, and he will do so by knocking out Erik Morales once
again on October 20 this year.
Moreover, when asked if the fans will support, Garcia said, “If I was fighting a Brooklyn fighter, then it'd be Philly vs. New York but I'm fighting a guy from Mexico and I'm a guy from the East Coast so I'm pretty sure they'll be supporting me.”
For now, Garcia is confident that he will defeat Morales. During their last encounter, Garcia’s performance was not up to the mark. While most analysts were expecting him to knock out Morales early during the fight, Garcia’s under par performance dragged
it to the last round.
On the other hand, Morales’ father Jose Morales asserted his son was not in the best of condition to fight, as he was recovering from a gall bladder surgery. Similarly, Briton fighter Amir Khan, who was recently knocked out by Garcia, claimed that the knockout
punch was a ‘lucky shot’. Even fans and analysts came up saying the same stuff for Garcia, which has made the unbeaten American furious.
According to Garcia, it is funny to see how people defend their defeats. Now, he has vowed to knock out Morales once again in the ring to show the world that he indeed is the next big thing in the boxing world. On the other hand, Morales has admitted the
fact that this fight will be his career’s most important one, as it will define his future.
