Danny Garcia upset over hatred from boxing fans – Boxing News
Despite being an undefeated hard hitting fighter, Danny Garcia finds himself amidst hatred of boxing fans. The 24-year-old pugilist believes he has proven himself over and over again, yet all he gets from fans is negative remarks.
In his recent interview, Garcia spoke about how he is treated by boxing fans, especially when it comes to comparing him with his upcoming opponent Amir Khan. Garcia revealed, “I do know what people think. his is like a life-changing fight for me, taking
me to a new level. Erik Morales was beating the h**l of the young kids and I beat him. Morales never said anything to me after I beat him; he didn’t even want to shake my hand. I don’t get credit for anything.”
He added, “I go on Twitter, and I used to like it, but I don’t go on that much anymore because there is so much hate on it. People follow me just to hate me. Khan has the bigger name and it’s why everyone thinks he’s going to win. I don’t worry about that.
I’m taking this fight because he’s nothing special to me. I know I can win. I’ve been told the last four fights that I wasn’t going to win.”
While Garcia is being hated by fans all around the world, Amir Khan is enjoying their love and respect. Unlike most fighters, Garcia is not really bothered about the brand can has developed. However, he surely feels dejected because fans do not appreciate
his talent.
Danny’s father Angel Garcia finds himself on the same page with his son. According to him, Danny deserves more respect and love than Amir Khan does. Garcia Senior has time and again called Khan an overrated pugilist with below par boxing capabilities, and
yet again he did so.
It should be noted here that during their last press conference for the bout, Amir Khan and Angel Garcia started a war of words. However, Danny Garcia remained silent, vowing to beat Khan on July 14.
