Danny Green on a triple frenzy as San Antonio Spurs crush Charlotte Bobcats 132-102: NBA Recap
Danny Green scored 23 points, including seven 3’s, and the San Antonio Spurs set a franchise record of 19 3-pointers as they thumped the Charlotte Bobcats 132-102 here at the Time Warner Cable Arena on Saturday night.
 "It was good to come out and play well in North Carolina. My last couple of games, I haven't been able to find a rhythm since coming back from injury. I'm still trying to get that rhythm and confidence and tonight helped a lot.
We were able to play well together and also got everyone some rest which helps on this road trip." Green said after the game;
He scored 21 of his 23 points from the three point land as he went 7 out of 9 from behind the arc. Tony Parker posted 22 points and dished out 9 assists while Manu Ginobili added 11 points, going 3 of 5 from the three point range.
Kemba Walker led with 23 points with Gerald Henderson adding 13 for the Bobcats, who dropped their 7th game in a row. Charlotte connected only 6 from the three point range compared to 19 by the Spurs.
Green shot one from behind the arc to put the Spurs up 6-2 early in the period but Walker was red hot at the start of the game. He scored 7 of the Charlotte first 9 points to put them up at 9-8. Charlotte looked sharp and were
up 18-12 with a Walker layup but the Spurs came back with an 8-0 run to snatch the lead, for good. San Antonio started pulling ahead and were leading 32-23 by the end of the period.
Gary Neal nailed a three pointer early in the period to put the Spurs up 37-25. A Gerald Henderson jumper reduced the deficit down to 35-42 but the Spurs meant business and kept on pulling ahead. The Charlotte could not find an
answer to San Antonio’s shooting from distance as Green fired two back to back three pointers to push their advantage to 55-39.
The Spurs were in no mood to go easy on the Bobcats as they knocked down basket after basket and a Parker jumper had them up 70-52 early in the third. He scored another deuce to put them ahead at 79-56 and start off a scoring spree
that landed them on 86-56, a 30 point mammoth advantage. Spurs were leading 97-67 by the end of period.
San Antonio raced to victory in the fourth period and maintained their 30 point advantage till the end.
