The 21-year-old moved to Amsterdam Arena from Fulham in the recently concluded summer transfer window, and has admitted that his new club plays at much higher pace.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Danny-Hoesen-c10208, who recently joined Ajax Amsterdam from Fulham on a three-year deal, has revealed that the club wants him to develop as a real No. 9.
The 21-year-old, who started his professional career at Fortuna Sittard in the 2008/09 season, joined the English Premier League side in the summer of 2009.
However, the promising youngster failed to make a single appearance for the Cottagers during his three-year stint at Craven Cottage. The Dutchman first spent a six-month loan spell at http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/HJK-c39532 Helsinki before joining his former Eerste Divisie club on a season-long
loan deal.
At the end of the 2011/12 campaign, the young attacker’s contract at Craven Cottage expired, and De Joden managed to lure him to Amsterdam Arena.
Hoesen, who has represented http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Netherlands-c753 at U-17 level, has revealed that he is enjoying his time in Amsterdam.
“The pace is much higher, more like playing ‘one touch’ football. I sometimes really enjoy at the training. I want to settle down at the earliest, and want to concentrate on my development. I hope I am given a chance on the pitch”, the Dutchman was quoted
as saying to Ajaxshowtime.
The 21-year-old went on to reveal that few clubs in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 were keen to acquire his services, though, they wanted him to develop as a winger.
“Ajax sees a true striker in me. There were few clubs in the English Premier League that were taking keen interest in signing me, but as a winger. That was not the case with Ajax. They wanted me to develop as a real No. 9”, Hoesen concluded.
The talented forward, who has a contract at Amsterdam Arena until the summer of 2015, will be hoping that the Ajax head coach, Frank de Boer, provides him an opportunity to prove his worth on the pitch in the ongoing season.
However, with Kolbeinn Sigthorsson, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Siem-de-Jong-c33482 already competing for the No. 9 spot, it seems unlikely that the 21-year-old would be enjoying any playing time this term.
