The former Fortuna Sittard striker is pleased to join the reigning Eredivisie champions, and admits that every young boy in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Netherlands-c753 dreams to play for the Dutch powerhouse.
Reports from Amsterdam Arena confirm that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Danny-Hoesen-c10208 is on the verge of joining Ajax Amsterdam from Fulham. The 21-year-old is expected to put pen to contract on a deal that will keep him at the Amsterdammers until the summer of 2015.
The promising youngster, who started his professional career at Fortuna Sittard in the 2008/09 season, has been unable to play a single game for the English Premier League side since arriving at Craven Cottage at the start of the 2009/10 season.
After spending two loan spells at http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/HJK-c39532 Helsinki and Fortuna, the striker was eventually sold to the 31-time Dutch champions, who will pay 500,000 Euros to the Cottagers.
The Dutch ace had a impressive season-long loan stint at Fortuna last term, netting 13 goals in 33 league games, and his consistent performances garnered him interest from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/VVV-Venlo-c40915 as well, though, the Venlo outfit failed to lure the youngster to De Koel
Stadion.
Hoesen expressed his delight on his impending move to the Amsterdam giants, and revealed that every boy in Netherlands dreams to don the jersey of De Joden.
“Unbelievable. The biggest club in the Netherlands. As a young boy you dream of that”, the 21-year-old was quoted as saying to Algemeen Dagblad.
The Dutch hit-man went on to admit that initially he did not believe that Ajax are interested in acquiring his services, but after speaking with the club’s sporting director, Marc Overmars, he realised that the Amsterdam-based club is seriously interested.
“Initially, I could hardly believe Ajax was interested, but after I spoke with Marc Overmars I knew it was serious”, Hoesen added.
The Amsterdammers first-choice striker, Kolbeinn Sigthorsson, has yet again sustained an injury, and it seems like that the club management has lured the promising youngster to Amsterdam Arena only to provide more options upfront to Frank de Boer.
“For what position have I been signed? I have been told that I have been bought for the striker position. First I have to acclimatise to the level, but with better players around me I hope to adapt quickly”, Hoesen concluded.
