Danny Washbrook inks three-year deal with Wakefield Trinity Wildcats - Rugby
Wakefield Trinity Wildcats have announced the uptake of Danny Washbrook from Hull FC on a three-year deal today, September 19.
This singing has been made after the player, along with two others; Ewan Dowes, Cameron Phelps, had confirmed their exit from Hull FC earlier today through the micro-blogging website, Twitter.
The news of the trio’s departure from the club went public after Hulls’ embarrassing 10-42 defeat against Leeds this Sunday at the Headingley.
Washbrook had joined in with the franchise in 2006 with Hulls and today with his official exit confirmation; he will be putting an end to his six-year stay at Hulls. The veteran was not happy to find out that his stay at his long-term franchise will be chopped
off at the end of this season.
While speaking about his departure, the player mentioned that his exit could not get more disappointing with the embarrassing defeat against Leeds on Sunday. Further , he said that he would have liked to stay there longer.
The news about Washbrook and Dowes, joining in the Wakefield Trinity Wildcats, in line with his their outgoing coach, Richard Agar was already in speculation.
Washbrook spoke about the pool of options available to him as he had confirmed his quit from Hulls and talked about his preferences in this regard. According to him, this was the right time for him to make a career move, which could advance him further as
a professional player of rugby league.
While speaking about his choices of future employment, Washbrook said, "At this stage in my career, I felt the time was right for a change and a new challenge to kick me into gear. I had a number of opportunities that presented themselves, but I am delighted
to be joining a club like Wakefield and continuing to work with Richard."
It was apparent that for Washbrook, it is very important that he wanted to choose such an option with which he was most comfortable with.
Wildcats has made a number of signings for the upcoming season of 2012.
