The 28-year old intends to play an important part in his new club’s Bundesliga and UEFA Champions league campaign.
The defender was an integral part of Borussia Monchengladbach’s squad that qualified for the UEFA Champions League play offs. The Brazilian made 91 appearances and scored 8 goals for Lucien Favre’s side.
After a few impressive seasons with Die Fohlen, the 28-year old caught the eye of Bayern Manager Jupp Heynckes, and was recently snapped up by the Bavarian giants. He was signed for a fee reported to be around 3 million Pounds,
and he penned a four-year deal with the club.
The former Standard Liege player is yet to make an appearance for the Munich club. After joining the club he made a rather ambitious statement, the defender revealed he signed a four year contract and intends to win the Bundesliga
four times.
"I have a contract until 2016 and would prefer to win the Bundesliga four times," he is quoted as saying in an interview.
Although the defender is likely to face tough competition from defenders within the squad, but Dante has no problem with it, in fact he benefits from healthy competition for places. The 28-year old vows to work hard in training
in order to get in the starting line up, and will leave the rest on the manager to decide.
"I have no problem with pressure, in fact, I love it. I can promise one thing - I will work hard for my chance every day and then the rest is up to the coach,” he is quoted as saying in an interview.
The former Lille player also admits that his move to Bayern Munich will boost his chances of getting a call up to the Brazil squad. His transfer to the Bavarian giants will make the  Brazil coach follow his progress and hopefully
he will get included in the  2014 World Cup Squad, which will held in his homeland.
"Of course I hope I can play for the Selecao thanks to this move. That remains my dream, just like the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. I think playing for FC Bayern places me more in the focus,” he added.
Dante will have some time to regain fitness and prepare himself for the new season; his chances of playing in the first team will be boosted if Germany manage to reach the final of the European Championship, as three of the Mannschaft’s
back four play for Bayern Munich.
He will have to be on his toes, considering Badstuber and Boateng’s performances in the Euro.
