The Borussia Monchengladbach defender is convinced about his side’s prospects ahead of the important game against the Reds on Friday.
With the second phase of the Bundesliga set to resume in two days time, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Dante-c10236 is confident of his team’s chances against a formidable Bayern unit. He admitted that his side is up against the hot favourites, but believes that the
Foals need to engage themselves properly in order to have any chance of upsetting the Bavarian giants.
The Brazilian added that Gladbach have a decent chance if they defend well, and are determined to get all the three points in Friday’s game. The Foals have already registered a win over Bayern this season in August when Jupp Heynckes’
men were defeated 1-0 at the Allianz-Arena.
While talking to the sports website, Goal.com, the 28-year-old centre-back further elaborated:
"Well, FC Bayern are the strongest club in the league. Nevertheless, we of course want the three points. If we cover tightly and eagerly engage in the challenge, then we will have a chance."
On the other hand, Dante expressed his desire to help his side achieve something of note at the end of this season. He mentioned that the Borussia-Park outfit would be delighted to make an entry into Europe by finishing in the
top four.
However, he confirmed that his team is not thinking far ahead, and all their focus lies on Friday’s crucial tie. While commenting on his team’s next goal, the Brazilian concluded by saying:
"I will not think too so big, this is an unrealistic goal. Our next goal is to reach 40 points. It would of course be a dream if we were to earn a spot in a European competition."
Borussia Monchengladbach finished the first-half of the season on the fourth spot with 33 points, only four adrift of current leaders, Bayern Munich. There is only one point which separates Gladbach from Borussia Dortmund and Schalke,
and a win on Friday will leave Lucien Favre’s men just one point behind Bayern on the second spot.
Lucien Favre’s men will be looking to complete a league double over their Bavarian opponents at the Borussia Park on Friday.
