Dark Ages highly likely to shine in the Western Daily Press Classified Stakes
Chepstow will become home for the Class 6 Western Daily Press Classified Stakes over six furlongs and sixteen yards on Tuesday, 29th May. Competing for the £1,617 prize money is a line-up of eight three-year-olds.
Only one entry, Tumbleowtashoes, among all the contestants has raced at Chepstow and met a dreadful eleventh ranking on the track of thirteen.
In terms of consistency and performance, only Dark Ages, Dark Angel’s three-year-old blue filly out of mare, Prosaic Star, leads the line-up.
She has scored third position ever since the last four races, two of them are the finals of the previous season while the other two are the kick start for the new campaign.
She ended third in the Yorkshire – Outdoor.Co.UK Adventure Activities Nursery on 4th October at Catterick over five furlongs. The race was won by Uncle Timmy who led the 7/2 favourite runner up of the race, Look Here’s Lady, by a mere neck’s difference.
The next time that the blue filly concluded the race right after the runner up was on 20th October in the Enjoy The Horizons Dining Experience Claiming Stakes at Wolverhampton over five furlongs.
Rougini, the winner, led the track by four lengths as Sonsie Lass finished the closest. The 11/4 favourite of the race, Musical Valley, ended ninth on the track of nine.
Neither improving nor driving down the set benchmark Dark Ages parked third in her seasonal debut. On 1st May she was among the seven contestants of the Betfred Mobile Sports Claiming Stakes at Lingfield over seven furlongs.
The race was won by the 11/4 joint favourite, One More Roman, who led King’s Future, by 1 ¾ lengths. The other joint favourite for the race was Dark ages herself.
The fourth straight time that the George Baker trained struck the third position was in the Betfred Mobile Sports Handicap on 21st May at Wolverhampton over six furlongs.
Kai dictated the terms of the race and was soon followed by Dear Ben.
The potential of being consistent is reflective from her past four performances, just a little more sincere effort can make her score beyond the third position and today is her chance to prove just that.
