Dark Ages to pair up wins through the Charlotte’s Happy Birthday Selling Stakes at Lingfield
Lingfield will become home for the Class 6 Charlotte’s Happy Birthday Selling Stakes over six furlongs on Tuesday, 12th June. Contesting in the race is a line-up of ten three-year-old runners who will invade the track for winning the £1,704 prize
money.
Dark Ages, Dark Angel’s three-year-old blue filly out of mare, Prosaic Star, has only raced thrice during the new season but has maintained a certain benchmark through all the three.
Out of the three starts, she ended third in two and then eventually made the most of the third chance by dominating it.
She penetrated into the new season on 1st May in the Betfred Mobile Sports Claiming Stakes at Lingfield over seven furlongs. The race was won by the 11/4 joint favourite who led the runner up of the race, King’s Future, by 1 ¾ lengths.
Dark Ages parked third as the other joint favourite of the race on the track of seven.
Her second seasonal outing was in the Betfred Mobile Sports Handicap on 21st May at Wolverhampton over six furlongs. The outcome was same as she landed with the third position and the winner turned out to be Kai. Finishing the closest to the winner
was Dear Ben.
The 7/2 favourite of the race ended eighth on the track of ten.
Her third outing of the season was in the Western Daily Press Classified Stakes on 29th May at Chepstow over six furlongs. Riding with Richard Hughes, the 13/8 favourite entry in the race, Dark Ages, led the track by just half a length.
Qualifying as the runner up was Ocean Myth and keeping her away from the wire even if for just half a length was a true challenge for Dark Ages.
Coming at terms with the third position was Welsh Royale.
Her seasonal debut was at Lingfield and her position there was not completely disappointing so she does have the opportunity today to pair up wins by keeping a firm hold on the chance today.
She will need to be a little vigilant about Tiablo who has won twice ever since the new season took off. Out of the seven tries, she has claimed two.
