Question:

Dark Circles Under Eyes?

I'm a 19 year old male and I suffer from dark, baggy looking circles under my eyes everyday. I get a pretty sufficient amount of sleep most of the time, but sometimes I have trouble sleeping and only get a couple hours. As long as I can remember i've had very baggy, dark circles under my eyes and it looks terrible. It almost looks like I have bruises under my eyes. I've tried things like Nivea For Men revitalizing eye cream, but they dont help. People will always ask me why I look so tired all the time when i'm not tired at all. Any suggestions on how to treat this?

  1. 1- Make sure you aren't sub-consciously rubbing your eyes. Rubbing them could bruise them or irritate them, thus intensifying the problem.

2- Mix a light foundation and a moisturizer and apply under your eyes. This will minimize darkness and puffiness. (I know you're a guy so this seems weird, but many more men wear foundation than you'd think.)

3- Soak a bag of green tea on your (closed) eyes. Chemicals in the tea ease inflammation and help fix dark circles. 10-20 minutes should help.

    I hope this helps!!

  2. Most of it is genetic. I have them to. Just get lots of sleep, and try not be stressed to much. I also have heard that when you cry a lot under eye circles appear darker. Not sure if it's true tho. Also drink plenty of water. Getting a bit of color in your face as well as putting cold spoons under eyes may help. Get ShiSeido Benefiance Revitalizing Cream. I got mine from Macy's and just a tiny dab of it does wonders on dark circles.

vitamin E oil, olive oil, cucumbers, & a doctor can also help. I have pretty bad ones so this is all from experience.

    Hope this helps. :)

  3. the reason why they appear to look like bruises is actually b/c they are in a sense. most people think its sleep deprivation, but in fact it could be that the skin is so thin under the eye (sometimes only a few cells thick) that the veins show. these capillaries are so small, the tiniest rupture can cause them to leak and chronic, never ending dark circles likely have this issue and the only  product i know that has been proven effective for this is hylexin. but be prepared to spend a good chunk of money.
