Dark Knight Appropriate For A 10 Year Old?

Question

I personally have no interest in seeing this, but my husband and 16 year old son have been dying. Now my 10 year old wants to go to.

For those that have seen the movie, is it for a 10 year old?

my nephew just went and he's 10 and loved it.  Went with both grandparents who also said it was a great show - and they're quite protective.

No, I do not think it is appropriate. Why would anyone want a 10yr old to see an M rated movie? If it was made for young viewing, they would have rated it G or PG

Most people would say its not appropriate, but i think that most kids wouldnt understand the dark content. Just in case i wouldnt...its the kind of movie where the freakier scenes stay with you a little while after you watch it...

but, again, a little kid might not get it..

My son is almost 10 and just went with Dad to see it today. He loved it and Dad didn't say it was inappropriate. I think it all depends on your child and what they can handle.
