Dark Lane in good position to succeed in Hotel & Conferencing At Wolverhampton Handicap (Div II)
Dark Lane, who has been knocking at the door since returning to AW, is brimming with confidence following a solid effort last time, and looks to be in a great position to make an impact in the Hotel & Conferencing At Wolverhampton Handicap (Div II), going
down at Wolverhampton on Monday, November 05, 2012.
With most of the participants in reasonable form, this contest is far competitive than the first division. A total of 13 horses have made it to the final line-up, and over a distance of five furlongs and 216 yards, they will be searching a decent prize of
£1,704. The officials are due to kick off this strong affair at 14:15 GMT.
Dark Lane showed a lot of positives on his previous three trips here. On the latest one, the David Evans-trained performed magnificently to ensure the third place. It was a very tough clash, but the 6-year-old did not lose determination, and ran well throughout.
Owned by Jason Tucker, the bay gelding has been showing good form since returning to this sphere. Although it will be a very tough task to beat some in-form runners, one can trust him.
Out of others, Athwaab seems to be the strongest one. The 5-year-old should travel well, if stall 11 does not prove troublesome. Noel Chance’s charge is in fine fettle after two powerful runs lately.
After taking a close triumph at Kempton, she reached Wolverhampton, and notched up the runner-up spot last time. Having made a couple of fine runs, the daughter of Cadeaux Genereux is ready for more.
Catalinas Diamond, off the same mark, scored in her previous AW appearance. Pat Murphy’s trainee was well beaten by Crimson Queen last time, and although a few things are in her favour, it would not be an easy task to show a winning act.
Many contestants are making good appeal, but top of the list is Dark Lane. He did nothing wrong on his latest start, and would require only an element of luck to produce a better result. We wish the best of luck to all the horses.
