Dark Souls, Rage or FIFA 12 – who topped the PlayStation 3 Charts?
Two new games debuted this past week and both looked to get off to a strong start in what is the crucial period which is the release week.
Dark Souls, the follow up to the critically acclaimed PlayStation 3 exclusive, Demon’s Souls and Bethesda’s post apocalyptic first person shooter, Rage, both went head to head with each other and FIFA 12 to see who would come out on top by the end of the
week.
10. Gran Turismo 5: the genius behind the Gran Turismo series recently announced a major update for Gran Turismo 5 titled ‘Spec 2.0’. He later listed the improvements and changes the updates would bring as well as announcing Downloadable
Content for the game.
All those combined have given life to the nearly non-existent sales of the game and seen it propelled back into the top 10 for the second week running.
9. Driver: San Francisco: Sticking to the cars and wheels theme, though adding an open world element to it, Ubisoft’s latest Driver game seems to be nearing the end of its top ten stint in the PlayStation 3 sales charts.
8. Dead Island: PlayStation 3 users may not have had Dead or Alive, so it is no wonder that they flocked in their thousands to buy a copy of the cooperative zombie survival action game, Dead Island, which is still managing to move a large
number of copies.
7. Ico and Shadow of the Colossus Collection: getting two games for the price of one has always been an attractive deal, but when one throws in two of PlayStation 2’s finest titles, it becomes a must buy. Something that has helped the collection
spend a good deal of time in the top ten.
6. Deus Ex: Human Revolution: Square Enix have truly delivered a masterpiece of a gaming experience with Human Revolution. A brilliant storyline, stunning visuals, moving soundtrack and inspired gameplay have made it one of the most immersive
gaming experiences in gaming history and one that has sold pretty well too.
5. Resistance 3: The final chapter in the Resistance series is still doing well in the charts as a number of gamers in the UK wish to experience mankind’s last hoorah against the Chimera.
4. F1 2011: with copies flying off the shelves, Codemasters will be happy with both the sales of the game as well as the response from critics and fans alike as their Formula 1 racing title is ticking all the right boxes at the moment.
3. Dark Souls: With Dark Souls debuting at number three it means that the top spot would be a two way battle between FIFA 12 and Rage.
2. Rage & 1. FIFA 12: It seems that football is the name of the game in the United Kingdom as FIFA 12 enjoys another week at the top spot while Rage has to settle for second place.
