Dark brown hair dye looks black!!?

Question

I just dyed my hair Dark brown about an hour ago. And it came out looking extremely black. With time my hair color always fades, So I'm hoping it will fade to a dark brown soon? What can i do to speed the process? Should i wash my hair twice a day??

I don't want to put lemon juice or anything harsh in my hair.

So how long will it take to fade in your opinion?

Anytime you dye your hair a dark brown it will look black.  That is just normal.  It took mine like 3 days to fade a bit where it actually looked chocolate brown and that was washing my hair once a day. I wouldn't wash your hair twice a day unless you absoutely have to. Overwashing your hair can dry it out and you can end up taking out more hair dye than you wanted and it will be too light of a brown.

Yikes! Black coloring is the hardest thing to get out of your hair.  The dark brown likely turned black because your hair was light and absorbed/saturated too much of the color.  It might not fade, but might as long as it wasn't permanent hair color.  I would say if it does its going to take weeks.  Go somewhere that sells Paul Mitchell products ( I think Walgreen's does, outside of Salons) and get the shampoo that strips hair color. Try Tea Tree Special Shampoo.

Your hair will lighten up a lot if you was it everyday. i died my hair darker about 2-3 weeks ago and it has lightened at least 3 shades..

wow i did the same thing!

i had blonde hair and i dyed it drak brown but it did look black and now its a month later and it faded and my hair is light brown and has a tint of blonde to it and its going back to its natural color i have naturally dark blonde hair so i think when it fades in about a month or so its gonna either go back to the color you had before or your natural color

Hair color always fades quickly so just be patient

I would say wash it twice a day......
