Dark brown spots on rose leaves?

are there supposed to be dark brown spots on the leaves that come with roses

  2. Sounds like Black Spot.  A very common rose fungal problem.

    There are lots of products you can use to keep it in check.  General fingicides, rose sprays with Neem Oil, anything labeled for black spot or powdery mildew.  Spray them every 7 - 10 days

    starting in late spring.

    You can't "fix" the spots that are there, but by spraying, you can keep it from spreading.  Also, rake and rmove fallen leaves, as the spores overwinter in the leaves on the ground.  Damp weather is ideal for it - so if it's been rainy where you live, it's no wonder you have it.
