Dark circles under eyes caused by leaking blood vessels, give me a break!?

Okay I am seeing sham commercials stating that dark circles under your eyes are caused by leaking capillaries under your eyes. Uhhhm WTF? I call B.S. on this. Spontaneous bleeding under the eyes because of sleep deprivation? When I google this I get floods of the same sham sites trying to sell their fecal matter. I could waste more time to try and research but maybe an authority in the medical realm really knows. Someone prove me wrong please or right?

its nothing to do with leakage, that would be a bit of a pain, but it is to do with blood vessels becoming more visible. If you are familiar with varicose veins, they are similar.

That is caused by thin skin, that area of the body has the thinnest layer of skin . So thin it becomes almost transparent.
