Dark colored hair with deep purple highlights?

Question

I want to dye my hair a almost Black color with Dark Purple highlights like on my bangs and/or framing my face, The purple wouldn't be dramatic. I have shoulder length hair with side bangs.

Ive seen people with that kind of hair and you can see the hint of color when the light hits it. do you think that would look good??

My daughter did something very similar yes it looks great on her but she started off with fairly bark hair to begin with

that would look sooo cool!!!

but go to the salon and get it done, so your pueple doesnt come out pink or red.  but getting blue would be cool too.

Yes much better then red. But I think purple is a hard color to get because if I'm not mistaken you might have to bleach first.

I think it would look great!  I love, love, love hair styles like that.  I think it adds to a persons whole look with the light creating a different color on your hair!

but watch out when dying your hair with the purple. my friend did it, and after a little bit it turns burgendy.

Oh I did that before!

But I did it where I had highlights, well, yeah, highlights, put throughout my entire hair and then for my bangs I had most of the underneath in the purple so the black hung over it in a chunky way.

It was so cute, and I really liked it.

The only thing that sucked was that when I originally did this I did it with virgin hair - I was 13 I think. So the purple stuck really well.

But I had to remove it when I went back to school, so I colored it all black.

I tried doing it again the next summer but with a dark blue, and because I had colored the hair the new color didn't stick well and after about a week I had to rinse blue dye through my hair every 3 days and that sucked.

So yeah, I think your idea is nice, I love the black and purple combination.

And the thing with the color when the light hits it, you can get that by adding a bit of colored dye to the black when you color your hair. It looks good with blue, red, and purple.
