I have really bad dark rings under my eyes.

I have tried four different eye creams.

I have had them all my life, they seem to be getting worse.

I usually have 9-10 hours sleep.

Im male so please dont say make up.

Don't worry about remedies for puffy eyes as i fortunately don't have them.

Would be grateful for any help!

  1. I have the same problem.  For me, my nurse practitioner said mine were mainly caused by rhinitis and prescribed nasonex, which seemed to reduce although not remove them.  Also, according to Wikipedia, while "there has been no end-all to curing or reducing dark circles, there are many home-made ingredients that can help make the dark circles less visible. For example it is said that putting teabags under the eyes, drinking plenty of fluids and a lot of rest can suffice.[citation needed].

    Vasoconstrictors

The Preparation H version with phenylephrine HCl 0.25% will constrict the capillaries resulting in the [temporary] reduction of the appearance of dark circles. The cream has less petrolatum than the ointment which is important to avoid the greasy appearance.

Other vasoconstrictors such as tetrahydrozoline hydrochloride as found in Visine may offer similar temporary results. Use should be limited in order to avoid a rebound effect.

    Massage

One treatment is to massage almond oil with honey around the eyes before going to bed[citation needed]. This will lighten the skin around eyes and brighten it considerably[citation needed]. Also, try gentle massage around eyes while taking shower. The steam from the shower helps for effective massage. However, some say that the constant rubbing will only cause the circles under the eye to become worse, similar to the Hay fever described above."

    I hope this helps

  2. Under eye bags are inherited from the genes. So you can't get rid of them. What you can do is to moisturize. And have at least 8-9 hours sleep.

  4. Remedies For Dark Circles

    * An instant dark circles remedy is to use the correct concealer. The shade should be lighter than your foundation. If circles are very dark, choose 2 shades lighter. Great choices can be Revlon New Complexion Concealer, Estee Lauder Smoothing Skin Concealer, Cover Girl Smoothers Concealer, or Neutrogena Smoothing Skin Stick.

    * Apply a good Vitamin K cream. Vita-K Solution gel or Peter Thomas Roth Power K Eye Rescue help strengthen capillary walls around the dark circles to make them less visible.

    * One should go for laser treatment only if the case is chronic. Lasers can increase production of collagen thereby thickening skin to make dark circles less visible.

    * Home remedies for dark circles can include the following:

    1. Drink plenty of water to combat dehydration.

    2. Wear at least SPF 30 sunscreen to prevent more sun damage.

    3. Get enough sleep.

    4. Leave cold teabags, cucumber or potato slices, or washcloths with ice cubes on eyes for 15 minutes regularly.

    5. Take iron supplements if anemic, but consult your doctor first.

    6. Identify the allergens and avoid them. Whether it be pollen, food, whatever, avoidance is the best solution to this. And avoid rubbing your eyes.

    * Hylexin is the first dark circles eye cream developed for serious dark circles. Featured in several magazines such as Marie Claire, FashionWeekDaily, The Wall Street Journal , Star and Luck.

    * One of the greatest remedies for dark circles is Arbonne's NutriMinC® RE9 Repair. It’s a corrective puffiness and dark circles eye cream that does additional benefits – firming, moisturizing and repairing the delicate tissue around the eye.

  5. hmm thats a tough one

well the only thing I really can suggest is some sort of coverup, no one would ever know unless you bring it to school with you hah

but yeah eye creams dont really work. I dont have dark circles but from what I have heard from other people, the creams never work.

sorry all you can do is cover it up with makeup.

  6. You should just live with them and embrace them. I like dark circles, I have them and I would look terrible with out them. Try a moisturizer.

  7. well since your a guy, this is going to be a little trickier than putting some make-up over your eyes. This might sound wierd but it definatly worked. my Dad tried it a couple weeks ago and it worked. although i do not know where he got the idea from :P

Take some whipped cream or cool whip (yess its wierd i know)

and when you wake up in the moring apply to the bags of your eyes. keep the cool whipp or whipped cream on for 5 minutes and then take it off. the bags might not instantly dissapear but in they should be gone fairly soon :)
