Darksiders 2 PC Version Disappoints –Video Games Update
Darksiders 2 came out for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Steam yesterday as PC gamers were annoyed to discover that the PC version is a bug riddled console port without any comprehensive graphical options.
PC gamers are quite picky when it comes to games as the majority of them, especially the elite PC gamers, want games that fully utilise the hardware. Just recently the PC community was up in arms because of the news that Dark Souls: Prepare to Die edition
would be a console port that would be capped at 30fps and would run at a native resolution of 720p, just like the console versions.
Even though loads of PC gamers had petitioned From Software to bring the game over to PC, they are now upset that they are getting a console port which will not fully utilise the superior PC hardware.
Many PC only gamers have stated that they will by avoiding this game until it hits the bargain bin. From Software has defended itself and apologised for the poor quality of the PC version by saying that it was From Software’s first PC game but they will
concentrate on multi-platform development from now on.
Darksiders 2 it seems also suffers from similar issues as gamers are complaining that the game has little to no graphics customisation options. The only thing that it allows the gamers to change is the games’ resolution and toggle V-sync on and off. Gamers
are complaining that the game lacks anti-aliasing and there is no option to toggle it unless gamers force it from the 3D card drivers which might lead to graphical glitches and bugs in many cases.
Another feature of the game that is annoying the majority of the gamers is that the camera auto centres while moving about. This gets annoying during plat-forming and combat. Vigil Games had stated that PC users will have access to the ‘config’ file which
would let gamers tweak the settings as they wished but gamers are complaining that the ‘config’ file was nowhere to be found.
Gamers have complained on the official Darksiders 2 forums and Steam Darksiders 2 Forums and are requesting the developer to quickly fix all the issues with a patch so they can enjoy the epic adventure they way they like.
