Darlan tipped to win the Tangle Teaser Top Novices´ Hurdle Grade 2
Darlan is likely to prevail in the Tangle Teaser Top Novices´ Hurdle Grade 2 at Aintree in England on Friday, April 13, 2012. The triumphant horse will be awarded a cash prize of £28,475.
The going will be good to soft in the 2 mile 110 yard race, which is scheduled to start at 14:00 GMT, and a total of 12 runners will be seen in action. Their names are as follows: Darlan, Prospect Wells, Captain Conan, Oscara Dara, Vulcanite, Right
Step, Agent Archie, Theatre Guide, Absolutlyfantastic, Seventh Sky, North Cape and Toughness Danon.
At the moment, it seems that Darlan will walk away with a comfortable victory today, as he has a very good record over hurdles. This is why the bookies have awarded him with pretty decent odds and the punters might also place maximum number of bets
on him.
The five-year-old gelding has taken part in five races over hurdles, winning three of them. In addition to that, he also finished runner up once, which means that there was only one occasion, where he failed to make it to the top three.
The Nicky Henderson’s trained gelding’s recent form is also very good, which will help him attract a lot of bets. He finished second in his most recent outing, but could have done better, as he gave a tough time to the race winner.
Darlan will be ridden by veteran jockey, A. P. McCoy, who has won 540 races over hurdles until now. His strike rate is also pretty much impressive and he will be looking forward to another strong run at Aintree today.
On the other hand, Prospect Wells will try to spoil the party for Darlan by winning the race. He has won a couple of races over hurdles out of six attempts and also finished runner up once. However, his recent form is not good, which indicates that
he might struggle today.
The Paul Nicholls’ trained gelding will be partnered by Ruby Walsh, who has won 156 races over hurdles and has a terrific strike rate overall.
The real battle will be between Darlan and Prospect Wells today, but the former seems to have the upper hand.
